The Funding Blueprint is a free virtual workshop designed to help nonprofit leaders, development professionals, and small business owners assess how they currently fund their work, identify potential gaps in their existing strategy, and determine where greater diversification may be needed.
The workshop challenges participants to think beyond grants as their primary, or only, funding source and introduces a more sustainable approach built around mixed revenue.
Participants are introduced to the Funding Blueprint Framework: Access • Structure • Positioning and use the framework to evaluate three areas of their current funding strategy:
Access: How easy is it for people to financially support the organization?
Structure: How is the organization's funding currently built, and is there enough diversification to reduce financial risk?
Positioning: How clearly and credibly does the organization communicate its work, impact, funding needs, and case for investment?
This virtual workshop is ideal for:
Nonprofit leaders (Executive Directors, Founders)
Small Business Owners
Nonprofit Board members
Project or Program managers
By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
Assess the stability of their current funding model. Determine whether their organization is overly dependent on a limited number of funding sources and understand the potential risks associated with that dependence.
Identify gaps within their existing funding strategy. Evaluate their organization across Access, Structure, and Positioning to identify areas that may be limiting funding opportunities or long-term sustainability. Identify opportunities to diversify revenue.
Understand the role of direct giving, grants, sponsorships, earned income, events/campaigns, and other revenue streams within a mixed revenue strategy.
Strengthen how they communicate their funding needs. Understand how data, outcomes, impact, and a clear organizational ask contribute to stronger funding positioning.
Identify immediate next steps. Leave the workshop with at least two actions to implement within the next 30–90 days to strengthen their funding strategy.
